My dad was diagnosed with ALS this year, in April 2020. The first and main symptom my dad has experienced is weakened and slurred speech. This is devastating for him and my family because he has been a guitar player and singer his whole life, and his favorite place to play was the Alzheimer’s and Memory Care Facility, where he consistently made patients smile. ALS has taken this away from him, and in response I am determined to do anything and everything possible to help fight this disease.

They were diagnosed about 4-5 months ago, but likely has had the disease for about a year now.
