Retired 75 year old male, happily married 50 years next month. Have a 45 year old son, his wife and two wonderful grandchildren living nearby. My other son lives in Baltimore. About two years ago I developed weakness in my leg and foot which doctors attributed to blockage of femoral artery. 18 months ago I fell and broke my pelvis. In 2020 I had two back surgeries to try to regain use of leg. Had heart issues and spent 16 days in hospital after last surgery. After lots of PT, Neurosurgeon finally sent me to neurologist who did lots of test and referred me to the Neuroscience Institute in Charlotte. After test they gave me the ALS diagnosis. Have also sent my blood work to Mayo and referred me to Duke for a 2nd opinion.
