April2021 took COVID vaccine( work in a hospital) 3 months later slurred speech and week thumb on non dominant hand. Had brain and cervical spine MRI’s, EMG’s & Blood work, Told not ALS. Went for second opinion, more comprehensive physical exam and EMG’s, more blood work. Gene test came up with familial ALS Gene. Sent to ALS clinic at Columbia. I believe the vaccine brought on symptoms and have been working with licensed acupuncturist taking Chinese Herbs and treatments which have been helpful. I declined drug trials as I would have to stop herbs. Just started on the soon to be approved med of Tudca and sodium phenylbutyrate.
