I am 77 years old. 2 years ago I started having trouble saying my name. Then noticed a few other sounds I had trouble pronouncing. Started having trouble swallowing large pills. Noticed drooling on my pillow. My husband and I kinda laughed at these symptoms thinking it was part of getting older. Then early spring 2022 everything got alot worse with speech and swallowing. Spent the summer of 22 seeing my pcp, ent, finally a neurologist, having lots of tests ordered by each. Finally on January 23,2023 got into Barrow Neurological Institute in Phoenix. They knew before seeing me that I had bulbar onset ALS.
