Short Bio |
I am 62, happily married for 39 years with 4 wonderful adult children with the youngest recently married and more recently pregnant. I teach HS orchestra. Last Dec I notice I could no longer sing or match pitch. I went to Mayo in Feb and they said I had spastic dysarthria. I got worse with shortness of breath, a week tongue, and difficulty speaking and eating. I finally got to see an ALS neurologist and had an EMG. She diagnosed me with Bulbar ALS. As expected, I’m devastated. I have good care at UIHC and a very supportive family, friends and community.
