I was in education for 49 years. I was a Principal and totally loved my career.  I was diagnosed in February 1, 2021. Needless to say it was quite a punch to the gut to me and for my children.  My mobility has declined dramatically, but thankfully I can still communicate using my voice with a little struggle. I’m currently on Riluzole and Relyvrio which is the most bitter medicine I have ever encountered. My daughter got married on October 22, 2022 , and my dream of dancing with her was fulfilled since I was able to dance with her to the song…What a Wonderful World!

Lately my pulmonologist, neurologist and respiratory therapist have been REALLY encouraging me to get a feeding tube which scares the living daylight out of me.  Nonetheless, the keep reiterating to have it done sooner rather than later. I can still chew and swallow wonderfully so I very hesitate to get it done. Just started using a Cough Assistance Machine… another apparatus to pack when we go down the shore which used to be my Happy Place.
