Alex Coriell’s Journey With ALS

This emotional video from Marissa Coriell is an incredibly moving tribute to her husband, Alexander. Alexander was diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) in January 2013. The video shows how quickly his condition progressed. By September 2013, Alex was unable to swallow food and needed a feeding tube, and then a couple of months later, he lost the ability to walk.

Alexander started a blog to write about his illness and to give hope to others who may be suffering from ALS, using his nose to type when he lost the use of his fingers. Sadly, Alexander lost his battle in November 2015.

My father was diagnosed with ALS my first year of high school. He never gave up, always laughed and filled the room with happiness and joy. Although there was pain, he was at peace with God abd loved his family so dearly. Alot of everlasting memories were made with my Dad, Gene, during his battle. He went back to high school on line to graduate to express the importance of education to his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Nothing seemed impossible for him and although he lost the battle of ALS in 2005, he left more life and love than any person alive and we will meet again! I love you Daddy!

We are truly sorry for your loss. However, it sounds like your father was an inspirational man who continues to leave his mark on your lives.
