Surfers Unite to Fight Against Motor Neuron Disease
In 2015, the Cure for MND Foundation visited the RipCurl Pro Bells Beach in Australia and chatted with some of the world’s top surfers about the best waves, worst wipeouts and a somewhat surprising topic: motor neuron disease.
This beautifully shot film explains that many motor neuron disease patients describe the symptoms of the condition as feeling like they are slowly drowning. In Australia, someone is diagnosed with motor neuron disease every 12 hours, and sadly, every 12 hours somebody dies from the disease. The film’s aim is to raise awareness and funds for the condition, so researchers can continue studying various treatments and ultimately, find a cure.
