I’ve mentioned that I get QALSody treatments targeting the SOD1 mutated gene.

Most of my progression stopped from the neck down. Next month I will get a cystogram so they can do imaging to see if there is any reason why the drug may not be getting into the braid – that’s where the medication needs to reach to impact my muscles from the neck up.

For the past two years I get the QALSody via lumbar puncture/spinal tap. They always put the needle in between L3/L4 slightly to the right. Starting in July every other treatment will be administered in the cervical spine area. My doctor thinks this will help the medication reach all areas.

What do your treatments look like?
