Short Bio |
My husband David was diagnosed in Feb 2021 and given 12 months – 3 years. By October that year they revised it to 3-5 years. He was very difficult to diagnose because he did not have any weakness. Just fasciculations in both upper arms. Then they found his tongue was twitching too which then caused a slur. David’s disease has progressed to weakness in his right hand at this stage. He is still working full time as a teacher. Next year he is changing roles to be a Technical Officer setting up the workshop for students to do their machining, designing, etc. He is still cycling and is very stubborn and determined to make the best of everything. We live in Queensland Australia and have great support from our local neurologist and MND and Me, as well as family and friends.
