I am 79 years young and have lived in Abilene, Tx for 50 years. I am a Baylor grad and married a Baylor woman over 56 years ago. I have three sons and their spouses and seven grands. I was a college professor and retired 13 years ago. My Christian faith and my family are my main support systems. I began noticing symptoms of ALS about five years ago and was diagnosed with bulbar onset ALS in October of 2022. I walk with the aid of a walker, rely on a feeding tube for nutrition, have very noticeable speech problems, have difficulty swallowing, and will begin using a CPAP shortly. I have a light workout at a local health club five days a week, still drive, and attend church and other activities regularly.
