I have an additional question, I have limb onset and getting more difficult especially when traveling on the road or using public restrooms with out family rest room. I have only my husband to help so how do you handle using the commode when you are no longer able to lift yourself up.

I started the cytokines trial trading to arizona, too early to say if there is positive effects minimal side effects. This drug is to help with muscle strength. We just have to keep on trying.

Thanks, I do toning exercises and stretches but when you get up at night and first thing in morning its so difficult to walk to rest room. I guess I just have to struggle thur these times. I would be glad to know the ones you do I’m always open to add more and learn other options.

I hear ya! I am so stiff in the AM. I began with a 5 min. stretch while lying in bed (knee pulls, leg stretch, body twists, rolling over, etc) over 11 years this routine has morphed into a full 30-min. When I finally stand and walk to the bathroom, I feel more coordinated, relaxed and… if the rest of the day falls apart, at least I’ve done some…[Read more]

Oh, and I don’t get up in the middle of the night. Too much risk of falling. Right away during my 1st year of ALS, I “retrained” my bladder. It’s a process of drinking adequate liquids during the day, but towards evening reduce liquids. I don’t drink anything after 7PM. It took about a week to do, but I’ve been sleeping a solid 9 hours for 11…[Read more]

I’ve written a lot in my blog about these types of gentle movements. Let me know if you…[Read more]
