I am the 67-year-old wife of my dear husband, David, an Army veteran.  We have been happily married for 47 years.  We have a daughter 45, and a son, 41 and 4 grandchildren.   David was diagnosed with ALS in 2016 at age 69.  He is taking Riluzole, and completed 2 cycles of Radicava.  He has lost the use of his right arm and hand, is now losing strength in his left dominant hand and arm, and is having problems with swallowing.   We are blessed in having professionals at our VA Hospital in Charleston, SC taking great care of him.  In addition to taking care of David, I provide part-time care for my 97-year-old mother who lives next door to us.  We believe that Jesus will get us through these trying times and pray daily for each other.  David’s strength and courage in dealing with this disease is amazing!
