I love my rollator! It is so light weight and allows me to stand up straight. It turns on a dime and that helps make it easier in other’s homes. Beach trip to Duck NC. In September. We met 11 old friends and stayed in a house that had a lovely 3 floor elevator. ( although only 2 hand rails for 8 bathrooms ) our lovely house had both a hot tub and a pool neither of which were accessible. Once diagnosed I went all out on a high glycemic diet. I soon developed what I call a “carb belly. “. I now am back to a more moderate Mediterranean diet. I feel better and have fewer mood swings.

I feel as though my capacity to enjoy social gatherings is diminishing as my voice is diminishing. I am unable to project my voice in a noisy environment. One on one suits me better. I like having company but I’m only good at visiting for about two hours then both my voice and my energy are exhausted.

My adventure would be a week away studying with a great oil painting teacher. No thought about home or meals or laundry or visits or stairs. Just as much time spent painting as my arms and my energy level would allow.

Hey Eric,

I started gaining weight right after I was diagnosed and it was suggested that I go on a high glycemic diet and ear 5 small meals per day. After gaining 6 pounds, I returned to my standard diet , less carbs and less sugar and eating only when I was hungry. I’m back to my diagnosis weight and feel better.
