I am 71 and was diagnosed one year ago, although my symptoms probably began two years ago. I also had it closed head injury three years ago with the large subdural bleed that eventually had to be drained. I’m not sure if this caused my ALS.  I suffer, mostly from leg weakness, especially the left leg and some upper body weakness at present. I do not have difficulty swallowing or breathing, although occasionally my speech slows.
