October 2018, I started having trouble buttoning buttons with my right hand (I had just turned 74). A year later, my right arm and hand had weakened significantly, and the left arm had started weakening. In late 2019, I was diagnosed with the bi brachial amyotrophic diplegia (B.A.D.) Motor neuron disease, fondly known as flail arm or man in a barrel. 4+ years after onset, my arms and hands are down to about 5% functionality. But my speech, swallowing and breathing remain perfectly normal. My leg strength feels normal to me and to my neurologist, although his EMG studies show steady if extremely slow weakening. I have been taking buphenyl & Tudca For nearly 2 years, along with Basis Elysium And a lot of creatine. Absent a control group, I have no idea whether all these pills have significantly slow the progression of my MND.
