    • Hi Kathy. Appreciate your posts and for understanding what most pALS are going through every day. Wish there was a way to at least stabilize this horrible disease so we could adapt and make the best of it. However, short of that, all we have to look forward to is more unimaginable suffering with every passing day. Thankfully, Hawaii passed a ‘Death With Dignity’ law in 2019 that I am looking in to. They do not classified it as suicide, but the intent is the same. It’s not a simple process (lots of hoops to jump through) but nevertheless it’s an option that is available for me should I decide to ‘leave the building’ on my own terms sooner than later. Just so people know, life insurance companies will pay out to a designated beneficiary only if their policy was purchased at least two years before. A life insurance policy that is less than two years old will not ‘pay out’ but instead the insurance company will return all paid premiums. I think ALS patients thinking of ending their life under their own terms rather than wait for this disease do it for them need to know this. Just sayin’. Meanwhile, I’m still hanging in there as best I can. Thanks again for your posts. Best wishes, young lady.
