I am very cautious when I read articles that suggests they are heading in the direction of treating ALS.  On the forum we have discussed the directions that we feel research should take in regards to ALS. We all want to see a cure, and at the very least, a way to slow down or stop the progression. It looks like some researchers are focusing on just that! Right now treatments focus on symptom management; however, the University of Washington Unviersity’s Center for Translational Muscle Research will focus on the production of human stem cells to create lab dish models that will hopefully be used for treatment development. This in turn, could provide us with a better understanding of ALS.
