When I first came to this forum I was listening to stories of people who had cared for their pals for years. I read, I studied and cared and cooked for my husband. They couldn’t put in a feeder tube because his oxygen was messed up, they said they could put him under but couldn’t bring him back.  I used ensure for the bases of many smoothies the weight just kept falling off. Eight month since diagnosis I was walking him back to bed and he said, I have a premonition that I’m going to die today. 7 hours later he did.  We did donate the organs they wanted for research. I pray with that there maybe something they can find to help someone else but I just feel lost.  We were married 50 years.  I’m the sickly one he was my caregiver why did things change? I’m sorry I’m rambling. I just hope his loss opens the door to someone else surviving.

my husband started sounding like a teen male when their voice changes. Our sons teased him about going through puberty again, then it slurred. No it’s getting pretty bad. Some people can’t understand him and it’s mostly people that are hard of hearing so it must be his tones.
They put him on a bipap machine and he’s not adjusting to that very well. Everyday it seems like something new is happening. He has lost his taste so we are watching how much he is taking in. They can’t put in the stomach port, the Dr is afraid he won’t wake back up.

My husband sleeps in his lazy boy chair because when he lays down he says his breath gets shallow. Two days ago they did a sleep study. We don’t have the results yet. My husband started in January with shortness of breath and voice slurring.

My husband really wonders if it came from agent orange or the vaccines that they were given. Rich wasn’t in the jungle he worked on helicopters. Rich can still speak and walk well. Everyday he wakes up as good as the day before is a blessing.
