About a year ago I was diagnosed with ALS. Â I am wearing metal AFO’s, which are a necessity for me due to bilateral foot drop. I am very glad I have them. Â I don’t know what a rollator is but interested in finding out more about their usefulness. Â I try to walk as much as I can and think perhaps having one would be useful. Â So much to learn. Â Thank you for the tips and experiences. Â They are all very useful.

I’m thankful for the life I have had and try to take each day at a time. I am grateful for the abilities I have today, for my husband, my family, my support system and above all for my faith that sustains me.

I have signed up for the Healey Platform trial and will begin in early May.  If given a placebo, I understand I will be able to try the medication after a 6 month study.  While I’m hoping to benefit, I also think doing what I can to benefit the community is important to finding a cure someday.  I do have a limit in that I do not want to deal with side effects the likes of chemo treatment.  Each day is a gift and feeling well, as best I can, is important to both to myself and my spouse.
