My husband lived with ALS. He was diagnosed in 2009, participated in a clinical trial, and even had a tracheostomy, after which I cared for him at home. Despite all of this he died in 2014. I have maintained my connection with the local ALS community, and also work part time with the ALS Association, as a Care Management Consultant. I try to help local families deal with the ongoing challenges of living with ALS.
