I am interested in attending a virtual or zoom meeting. At 69 my ALS started lightly one year ago and now my arms especially the right arm is very weak along with strong fatigue. I miss my violin very much. Please let me know if and when the virtual meeting will be. Thank you!

Thank you so much for all your information. And I’m sure I will have more questions in the near future. I will try to continue various exercises. Today I tried to shovel away a portion of our 1 ½ foot snowfall from yesterday and last nigh and got very tired from the shoveling. I guess that was my exercise for today.

Hello Dagmar Because I’m new on this site I’m not sure if I contact you directly this way and if it’s ok to do so. First I would like to mention that I enjoyed your Positive Rituals and My Evolving Morning Routine. I have been meditating on and off since my early 20’s but I have been doing Sanskrit mantras as well in the past 6 or 7 years. I’m…[Read more]

Hello James, This is a good way to contact me, although it is via “public” messaging, which is OK. If you want to discuss something not meant for public view, just send a “private message” (this option is found on your profile page).
Thank you for your comments about my recent column – – and kudos for your mantras and chanting. In my professional…[Read more]

Thank you Amanda for your response. I’m sorry that ALS has been so strongly genetic in your family. I don’t believe anyone in my paternal or maternal side had ALS. Although I had a paternal great grandfather who passed away 52 years before I was born at age 40 in 1900. I don’t know if it was possibly ALS but more likely cancer. My ALS started…[Read more]

Thank you Dagmar It has taken several months to accept that I have ALS and research information. I still have to have another EMG and MRI within the next several weeks.
I would like to ask you a question if you have time to respond. Because you have been diagnosed with ALS over 10 years ago have you and are continually taking a medication like Riluzole?-
Hello James, Yes, I have been taking Rilozule these past 10 years. Started it right after I was diagnosed. It’s the only medication I take.
Good luck with the EMG and MRI… there are a lot of tests to endure with ALS…you can survive 🙂
And, thank you for the kind comment on my recent column. In my reply, I shared the link to my ALS and…[Read more]
