C9orf72 and impaired cognitive behaviour:
I’ve just read the article about research at the University of Turin into cognitive behaviour in pALS.
This coincides with me last Tuesday taking part in a King’s College London research into cognitive behaviour in pALS , and the next day in a study into early potential markers for ALS using a new state of the art MRI scanner. So I’ve been measured intensively.
And as far as I could see, there was no mention of previous measures of cognitive ability in the Italian trial participants.
I have c9orf72 ALS.
Last week I completed the cognitive behaviour research in half the allotted time, managing in one section to repeat back strings of 7 numbers in reverse successfully every time.
My IQ was measured as 147 years ago, I do rather complex crosswords each day.
So am I just an outlier?
As for apathy? Look at my Tweets and suggest I’m apathetic. I also chair the local council.
Just saying…..
