Augie’s Quest to Host Bash Reunion for ALS Therapy Development Institute
The Augie’s Quest initiative is hosting a 10 Year Reunion Bash on Friday, March 13. The event, which is being organized together with the 34th Annual IHRSA Tradeshow and Convention is taking place at the JW Marriott, in Los Angeles, California and the funds raised are going to be used to support the ALS Therapy Development Institute.
The 10 Year Reunion Bash is being organized to raise funding for the first non-profit biotech in the world to work exclusively on research about amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), the ALS Therapy Development Institute, which main mission is to find both effective therapy options and a cure for ALS.
The high school reunion-themed event will be hosted by NBC’s The Today Show star Natalie Morales and will include entertainment from Gavin DeGraw, as announced by Augie’s Quest in a press release. In addition to the Grammy-nominated recording artist, a special performance is planned by Five For Fighting star John Ondrasik.
The idea is to organize a night of fun, similar to a 10 year high school reunion, in which the research and funding achievements from the organization will be highlighted. The event will also feature a silent and live auction with unique packages.
IHRSA is presenting the BASH for Augie’s Quest, as the event will be sponsored by Technogym, The Atlantic Club, The Bay Club Company, Zumba, Newtown Athletic Club, and 24 Hour Fitness. More information and tickets are available at the website of the event here, or by contacting Rachel Salas at [email protected].
Augie’s Quest was created in 2007 with the main purpose of providing financial support to research and drug development to end ALS. Since its foundation, the program has already been able to raise over $44 million, becoming the largest individual fundraising initiative for ALS. The donations, which come from a wide range of events all over the country, are attributed to the ALS Therapy Development Institute.
In addition to BASH, Augie’s Quest also organizes the Tradition of Hope Gala as well as several other awareness and fundraising campaigns in collaboration with the fitness industry, including the Clubs for the Quest and the ClubCorp Charity Classic.
