Last Week’s Hot Topic on ALS
Last week’s hot topic on ALS was the Potential ALS Treatments that May Be Identified by New Discoveries About Certain Proteins written by Margarida Azevedo.Â
The article refers to the University of Kyoto and its researchers who discovered a protein associated with a gene involved in cancer suppression, the VHL protein, and a protein that rescues cells from hypoxia (low oxygen) conditions, cullin2, who were both involved in ALS progression.
Therefore, thanks to the University of Kyoto researchers we are closer to the identification of therapeutic targets for ALS treatment.
