ALS News Today Forums Forums Using Our Forums Why posts are “flagged for moderation”

  • Why posts are “flagged for moderation”

The ALS News Today Forums are designed for ALS patients, caregivers and medical professionals to connect, ask questions and share experiences – – as well as: provide a place for information and constructive discussion and feedback about living with Lou Gehrig’s Disease (ALS). Members are encouraged to start new forum topics and respond to existing topics.

Occasionally, a member’s post is “flagged for moderation.” These are the most common reasons why:

    1.  Too many links to outside sites or unreliable (spam) links. Try to limit the number of links in your posts to only 1 or 2, so that members can check out your link and respond. Posts with a lot of links can overwhelm readers and trigger “flagging.” Do test the links you add to make sure the web address is correct and the site is legitimate (not spam).
    2. To protect and support our members, Forum Moderators are watchful for posts indicating the member is facing an emotional crisis. Their post will be flagged and a Moderator will contact the member privately to offer helpful resources.
    3. The post is long-winded, redundant and filled with angry, non-constructive comments or false information. Please post your thoughts in a concise, clear manner and avoid going off on rambling tangents.

Members and Moderators of the forum can flag and report any posts which they feel are in violation of these rules: https://alsnewstoday.com/forums/about-our-forums/

If you break the rules, you may find that your access is suspended or removed.

If you have questions regarding a post or thread that has been removed or subject to other moderation, please contact (private message) a moderator to discuss it.

Let’s respect each other and support our fellow members.
