Traveling with ALS can be a challenging task, but not impossible. Going on a vacation or to visit loved ones is possible, but it takes some preparation and planning.  Keeping up with assistive technology  and working with people associated with your means of traveling (airline employees, trains, etc) is definitely a good place to start; however, there is more to consider if you plan on having a safe and enjoyable trip. In order to know exactly what you need to do in order to be prepared take a look at this video presented by the ALS Associaton https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QGLWSVA3mYM&feature=youtu.be.

Have you traveled since you were diagnosed with ALS? Are you a caregiver that had to plan a trip for a loved one with ALS? Did you find the people you encountered helpful?  Do you have some tips and information you can share to help others plan thier next trip? We’d love to hear from you!
