Do you keep up with ALS research and clinical trials?  I’ve been following the information that has come from the pre-fALS study that I participate in and they have published information about biomarkers found in blood samples for pALS and pre-fALS with the SOD1 mutated gene. I find this particularly interesting because the goal is to be able to stop the progression and possibly the onset of genetically linked ALS through gene therapy.  They have made great advancements; however, we still have a ways to go!

We’ve also had a lot of conversations about NUROWN in our community. ALS News Today just published this article outlining the next step in research https://alsnewstoday.com/news-posts/2020/10/12/brainstorm-details-phase-3-nurown-trial-design-for-treating-rapidly-progressing-als/

What treatment/research do you think is the most significant? Please feel free to share a link to articles if you have any.

Yes I try to keep up on the research. I’m especially interested in those treatments and drugs which have completed the trials and need final results and then on to the FDA.
Time is not on the side of PALS. If treatments for Covid have been expedited why not Centaur?  Why not NurOwn? And a few others. As in all things the waiting is the hardest part.
