Summer 2024 is almost in the books!! Summer is my favorite time of the year because I have ample time to spend with family and friends. I do enjoy the rest of the year but between doctor’s appointments and work, I just don’t have the energy to do some of the fun things I enjoy! I also enjoy catching up on movies.

I always love the Fall season. Back when I lived in Iowa, it meant temperatures dropped to moderate levels and the trees showed off their colors. All-things pumpkin were my choices. Now, in the area of Arizona where I live – – there’s no real change of seasons. The local Walmart displays tell me it’s time to bring out the pumpkins! haha. My ALS doesn’t change much with the seasons… only (like Amanda) doctor visits are back on the calendar!

It’s fall for me in Arkansas we get hot and humid in the summer so fall is a much needed break.

I get it!! My family is from SE Missouri. When my father finally retired he moved back. I would spend weeks and weeks with him in the late summer and every Thanksgiving and Christmas. Thanksgiving usually had perfect temperatures! He had about 40 acres out in the country, Grassy Missouri. We would get up in the middle of the night and sit silently on the front porch listening to all the critters. His home was my safe haven everytime we had a hurricane. I sure do miss him, and those memories are wonderful to think about.

My favorite time of year is right is that space right in between late summer & fall when it begins to get a little cooler and we can sit out on the deck under the trees with a light sweater 🙂

I like Spring, because natural life start to be active and the flowers start to appear to my bees.
The temperatures here are also moderate in preparation for the high temperatures of the summer.
