How do you get through the seasons with ALS?
My father passed away on May 15, 2013, from ALS. My step-mom passed away 10.5 months later. The spring is an extremely busy time at my job, and since I was diagnosed, it seems to take me longer to complete some tasks.
I tell myself that staying busy is good, but every year I realize my body remembers regardless of how busy I keep myself. I find that things that typically don’t annoy me really get on my nerves. At some point, I realize that I’m in “that season” of my year. I need to take extra steps to remain upbeat. That’s not always easy when you are a pALS.
Do you have “seasons?” How do you take care of your mental health during these periods?
