Medicare does cover home health care for ALS patients; although it may be a challenge for some families to make it happen. Most give up …and have to rely on personal savings to cover the costs. But ALS News Today columnist Rick Jobus didn’t give up – – he now receives 28-hours a week of homecare, paid by Medicare!

Rick wrote a very helpful column about his experience; Medicare’s criteria and what ALS patients need to do.

ALS Patients Can Get Medicare Cover for Home Healthcare

I suggest you bookmark Rick’s column for future reference. This is important information for all ALS patients to know; especially for planning ahead and thinking about what to do when you eventually need more care than what your current caregiver can provide.
