MORE: 10 things to know about genetic testing for ALS.

The film explains that ALS is a rare disease that affects one to two people out of every 100,000. The disease is not very well-understood and to date, there are no known causes and no cure. Continued research is needed to help scientists establish why the motor neurons die in order to develop treatments that can stop or potentially reverse damage caused by the disease.

Many researchers think the cause is a combination of genetics and environmental factors but which environmental factors have yet to be determined.

  2. Alisa Cameron says:

My husband was diagnosed with Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis old 4 years ago at 61. The Rilutek (riluzole) and other medications given by his doctors did very little to help him. The medical team did even less. His decline was rapid and devastating. His arms weakened first, then his hands and legs. Last year, a family friend told us about Rich Herbs Foundation and their successful AMYOTROPHIC LATERAL SCLEROSIS TREATMENT, we visited their website www. richherbsfoundation. com and ordered their ALS/MND Formula, i am happy to report the treatment effectively treated and reversed his Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), most of the symptoms stopped, he is able to walk and able to ride his treadmill again, he is pretty active now.
