Living with ALS: Stories of Strength
“ALS is a fatal, neurodegenerative disease that attacks nerve cells and pathways in the brain and spinal cord and slowly robs the body of its ability to speak, swallow and breathe. In the United States, a person is diagnosed with ALS every 90 minutes.
The ALS Association St. Louis Regional Chapter, established in 1984, provides support, care services, and resources for people living with ALS, their families and caregivers living in eastern Missouri and central and southern Illinois, all while aggressively searching for treatment and a cure.”
