pALS and caregivers alike need to ask for help. Asking for help is not always easy, especially for people who have always been independent and enjoy doing things for themselves. Many illness cause people to lose some abilities and adapt. A good example is how this Vermont couple had to adjust to one having Hunting’s Disease.
https://alsnewstoday.com/2020/03/12/vermont-couple-shares-support-strategies-on-managing-neurodegenerative-disease/  They learned to help one another and to adapt to their ever changing lives.

What adaptations have you had to make? Is asking for help difficult for you? Have you found ways to make it easier and get your needs met?
