There have been some great conversations on the forum about how to improve a pALS’s quality of life. I really enjoy reading the advice and suggestions from Dagmar and our members about exercising, eating healthy and how to take care of mental health needs.  As we all know, ALS affects every pALS differently and their needs are different.  Over the past couple of decades assistive technology has vastly improved providing pALS with more options and ways to communicate and be empowered. Is anyone using any assistive technology devices? If so, were you able to any financial support to cover the expenses through insurance or local agencies?  I think sharing information on topics like assistive technology can help members obtain the some of the things they need. The ALS Association has a some information on their website that you might find useful on this topic.  http://www.alsa.org/research/focus-areas/assistive-technology/  They may even be able to help you find what you need.
