pALS are eligible for Medicare
If you have been diagnosed with ALS the typical Medicare rules do not apply to you. You can receive Medicare benefits and you do not have the waiting period necessary when diagnosed with other diseases. All ALS patients, family and friends should know that having ALS qualifies for Social Security Disability benefits AND for Medicare benefits.
