When I was diagnosed in 2010, clinical trials required patients to live within 50 miles of a test site thus requiring patients to travel to the site for periodic evaluations. Most clinical trials were in large cities and far, far away from where I lived. So, for years I never had the opportunity to participate.

Now, good news! With the advent of allowing patients to use their smartphones to collect data, this hopefully will open enrollment to many more patients. And, speed up the discovery of a treatment, cure and prevention of ALS.
