I’ve been on QALSody for 14 months.  It has made a difference and has halted the progression of my ALS.  At the beginning of the summer I started having side effects from the QALSody and my legs went numb. This was called myelitis which is a rare neurological condition. It’s caused by inflammation (swelling) of the spinal cord.  I have been on a journey to recover and it seems like this is starting to happen. I had to take a break from the treatments.  In PT, the therapist is doing manual therapy. This seems to help me immensely.

Amanda, I was sorry to read that you had to take a break from your treatments – – everything seemed to be going so well. But it’s good that the PT is helping to tide you over. (Not to mention having to dodge 2 massive hurricanes this summer, as well)!!! I’m thinking of you and hoping you can resume treatments soon.
My summer has been spent trying to maintain my regular daily eating, exercise, writing, and getting-quality-sleep, routines. But every day I’ve had interruptions and curveballs attempting to throw me off PLUS, our world is very “bumpy” right now.
I’m hoping you and all our forum members are managing their days and planning some good times for the holidays ahead.
