Keeping with my theme this week, to focus on our emotional well-being, let’s share inspirational videos.

Living with ALS doesn’t mean you have to stop learning new things. Whether it’s a TED Talk, podcast or other media platform; sometimes an inspirational presentation hits all the right notes.

I watched this TED talk eight years ago, and continue to return to it again and again. In it, Shawn Archer from Harvard University, delivers an entertaining lecture on positive psychology, happiness and human potential. My two big takeaways are, first: I find a parallel with the ALS medical community’s focus on “average patients,” not the outliers who are living longer, remaining active and engaged in life. Second (and the real gem here) are the five research-based actions we all can do to create lasting positive change.

What is your favorite TED Talk (podcast, interview, etc.)? Share the link and why you like it, or why it’s important for you.
