I am inspired by people who have a positive attitude, find something good in everything especially  after being diagnosed with an illness such as ALS. Lou Gerhig gave The Luckiest Man on the Face of the Earth speech he was looked up to by not only baseball fans, but by everyone. https://youtu.be/tFEH13veX_c

Steve Gleason started a foundation and the slogan, NO WHITE FLAGS, after his diagnoses. He has brought attention to ALS and helped and inspired thousands of pALS to continue living a life filled with adventure.

Obviously most people who get ALS are not athletes. Through volunteering and participating in this forum, I’ve met people who inspire me every day. I recently read about Ed Rapp, a pALS who was diagnosed in 2015. The website https://staystrongvsals.com/ explains his story and how he is making a difference in raising awareness and fighting to find a cure!

Do you have anyone that inspires you?

Ed Rapp’s story is certainly inspirational! I didn’t realize he was the one who started “I Am ALS” – – a great, great awareness campaign!
