How do you handle a caregiver getting sick?
With the cold and flu season approaching, how do you handle caregivers getting sick? Especially if the caregiver is a spouse or family member.
A simple cold for a caregiver could easily turn into bronchitis or pneumonia for the person with ALS. Do you keep masks on hand for use and protection? Of course, everyone should cover coughs and sneezes with their elbow, not their hands. And hand-washing is important after any nose-blowing.
What additional steps do you take to protect your ALS patient?
