Mental self-care helps during ALS awareness month
We’re kicking off a multitude of ALS awareness events in May. Even though I look forward to cheering everyone on, I’ve learned to prepare myself by creating a shield of mental resilience. Because for me, raising awareness means seeing lots of messages and emails filled with dire statistics of the worst of ALS – – and I have ALS! I accept I have ALS, but I won’t accept the expectation of how fast it will affect me. So I have a handy mental shield.
Learn why, and how you can do it too, in my column, Minding Me While Minding the Message.
Have you felt the weight of awareness marketing messages? What additional tips can you share, that work for you to help strengthen your “sense of self” amidst all the information?
