Emergecny Preparedness
It seems that natural disasters have been occurring everywhere over the last year. Every time I watch the news there is another tornado, flooding or wild fire some where in the United States. Living on the Gulf Coast, I particularly pay attention to hurricane season and flooding. Evacuating and/or having an emergency plan is challenging for people without an illness or disability; however, for pALS and their families extra steps are needed. Are you prepared for the kinds of emergency that is likely to happen where you live? What do you do differently? Are there people who know to check on you or help you if you need to evacuate? Are there agencies that can be contacted to help you prepare? Please share what preparations you have made in order to be safe in crisis situation or natural disaster.
