I was doing some research and came across this article.

A major problem in healthcare is that specialties and sub sub specialties become sole owners of a dx.

I have Hashimoto Thyroiditis so when I started having symptoms it was obvious to go to endocrinologist. My doctor is obsessive about testing the whole system. It turned out that I had more problems than just thyroid.

Once we got thyroid axis stable, I started on testosterone. Now all my hormones are stable and normal ranges.

Is that slowing my muscle loss, who knows, but one smart neurologist told me once that when faced with any degenerative illness, the more you can address general health issues the better.

My suggestion especially for people in early stages, don’t wait for referrals you might not get and develop relationships with any specialist where you may have co-morbid issues.
