Care giving is a blessing. It isn’t without it’s stress, but being part of someone’s struggles shows just how much they trust you.  How do you handle the stress? Have you participated in any online support groups or in-person support groups? How did you learn about online support groups?

Ann – – I’m sorry you’re feeling so frustrated and helpless. Your love for your husband shines through all that you are researching and wondering if it will help him.

first, may I ask what do you mean by “failing.”?? I think you’ve said he was diagnosed a year ago…what is changing? Respiratory? Mental? Physical? Before you self-prescribe a regimen of herbal supplements…what symptoms are you trying to address? And, have you received any suggestions from your doctor/medical team?

I’m not sure if Curcumin is the holy grail treatment that you are hoping it is – – but I recommend you read a little more about it before blindly following another patient’s dose. Here are 2 excellent resources for you.

Dr Bedlack’s webinar on curcumin (do note time stamp 13:48) https://www.neals.org/for-people-with-als-caregivers/educational-webinars/cured-by-curcumin-untangling-another-als-x-file
You can join Dr Bedlack’s trial here: https://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT04499963
Published research on ALS and curcumin: https://www.researchgate.net/publication/323504573_ALSUntangled_44_curcumin
(dosing & costs are on pg 3 of the document)

It’s always so good that you reach out to this forum for support and information – – let us help you sort out exactly what your husband needs and how we can help you feel less frustrated.

Hello Ann, I am sorry that your husband is failing and you are feeling helpless. I am sure  you are doing everything you can to support him.  I also bought the curcurmin that Dr. Bedlack mentions in his studies.  I was able to find it on Amazon.
