World famous physicist Stephen Hawking was diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) when he was 21 years old, and at the time of his diagnosis, doctors gave him just two years to live.

On March 2018, Stephen Hawking passed away at the age of 76. While 76 doesn’t seem all that impressive with many living past 100 in this day and age — for Hawking, it was simply remarkable. Read more about his story here.

Do you know of anyone else who has defied the odds and lived beyond their doctors’ expecations?
